Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about logging food, using AI scanning, setting goals, and getting the most out of 2BIB.
Getting Started
2BIB (Be in Balance) is an AI-powered nutrition tracker available on web, iOS, and Android. It uses GPT-4o vision to identify meals from photos, reads nutrition labels via OCR, scans barcodes, and calculates adaptive TDEE targets that automatically recalibrate based on your actual weight progress — so your goals stay accurate without manual tweaking.
Yes. The Free plan is available forever at no cost and includes food and water logging, macro tracking, barcode scanning, 3 AI photo scans per month, and 7-day history. Upgrading to Pro ($7.99/month or $39.99/year) adds unlimited AI scans, adaptive goals with weekly milestones, full 30-day history, auto-daily log entries, and more.
2BIB is available on the web at app.2bib.com, on iOS via the Apple App Store, and on Android via Google Play. Your data syncs automatically across all platforms so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
Visit app.2bib.com and click "Get started." You can sign up with an email and password or use social login. After signing up, a guided onboarding flow walks you through entering your body metrics and setting up your first nutrition goal — or you can skip it and jump straight to the dashboard.
Entering your age, height, weight, and activity level is optional but strongly recommended. These metrics power your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) calculations, which set your personalized calorie and macro targets. You can skip them during onboarding and add them later under Profile.
Food Logging
Tap the "+" or "Log Food" button from the dashboard or Log tab. You can search the food database by name, scan a barcode, use the AI camera to photograph your meal, or enter nutrition manually. Select your meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack), adjust the servings, and tap "Log Food" to save.
Yes. Go to the Log tab, find the entry, and tap the edit icon. You can update the food name, meal type, number of servings, and individual macros. For AI-scanned meals, you can adjust individual ingredient quantities and the totals recalculate automatically. Tap the trash icon to delete an entry entirely.
Yes. On the Log page use the date navigation arrows to go back to any previous date, then add, edit, or delete entries for that day. Logging for future dates is not supported.
Auto-daily logs (Pro feature) let you mark any food as "add to daily log automatically." That item is then pre-logged every day at its specified meal type — perfect for routine items like your morning coffee or daily protein shake. Manage or remove auto-daily entries from the Daily Automations section at the top of today's Log page.
Tap the heart icon next to any food item in the search results or detail sheet to save it as a favorite. Favorites appear under the "Favorites" tab when browsing foods, so you can quickly re-log items you eat regularly.
AI Food Scanning
Tap the camera icon on the Search/Add page and point your camera at any meal or plate. The AI (powered by GPT-4o vision) analyzes the image to identify every food item, estimate portions, and break down ingredients. You'll see a detailed nutrition summary with a confidence rating — review it, adjust any quantities with the +/– controls if needed, then tap "Looks good" to log it instantly.
The Free plan includes 3 AI photo scans per month. Pro subscribers get unlimited AI photo scans. Barcode scanning and nutrition label (OCR) scanning do not count toward this limit on any plan.
You can correct the AI directly in the detail sheet. Tap "Train me" after a scan to submit the correct food name and nutrition values. You can also adjust individual ingredient quantities using the +/– controls. Your corrections are recorded and help improve the model's accuracy for your specific foods over time.
Yes. The label scan (Nutri Facts mode) uses OCR to read a nutrition facts panel exactly as printed, including calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar, sodium, and micronutrients. It works on both packaged food labels and supplement panels.
Yes. Tap the barcode icon, point your camera at any packaged food barcode, and the app instantly looks up the nutrition data from its database. Barcode scanning is available on all plans, including Free, with no monthly limit.
Yes (Pro feature). In the Search page, type any food name and tap "Ask AI to estimate nutrition." GPT-4o generates a reasonable nutrition estimate based on standard databases. This is useful for home-cooked meals, restaurant dishes, or any food not found in the database.
Goals & Nutrition Targets
TDEE stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure — the total calories your body burns each day, accounting for your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and activity level. 2BIB calculates your BMR using the Mifflin-St Jeor formula (based on age, weight, height, and gender), then multiplies by an activity factor (sedentary through extra active) to get your true TDEE. Visit 2bib.com/what-is-tdee to learn more.
Select your goal (lose weight, gain weight, maintain, build muscle, or improve health), enter your current weight, and optionally a target weight and date. 2BIB generates a week-by-week action plan powered by GPT-4o, grounded in your real TDEE. Each weekly milestone includes adjusted calorie and macro targets, plus 3–5 personalized tips to keep you on track.
2BIB monitors your logged weight entries and compares them against your weekly milestones. If your progress deviates — either faster or slower than planned — the system automatically recalibrates your upcoming milestones with updated calorie and macro targets. No manual adjustments needed; your plan adapts to your real results.
Yes. Go to the Goals tab, tap "Update Goal," change your goal type, target weight, or target date, then tap "Generate Action Plan" to create a fresh plan based on your current weight and new inputs.
Goals and adaptive action plans require a Pro subscription. Your BMR and TDEE are still calculated and visible in the Profile section for free, but the full week-by-week milestone plan, auto-recalibration, and AI-generated tips are Pro features.
Hydration Tracking
Your daily water target is approximately 35 ml per kilogram of body weight (roughly 0.5 oz per pound). The target updates automatically whenever you update your weight in your profile. The tracker shows a visual fill indicator so you can see your progress at a glance.
Yes. The Drinks tracker includes 25+ preset drinks across 9 categories: water, soda, juice, coffee, tea, alcohol, energy drinks, coconut water, and electrolyte drinks. Each drink has a water content percentage, so caffeinated or alcoholic beverages count proportionally toward your hydration target rather than as full water servings.
The Wellness Score is a daily 0–100 composite metric that measures how closely you hit all five daily targets: calories, protein, carbs, fat, and hydration. A score of 80 or above is considered "great." The scoring logic adapts to your goal — for weight loss, hitting at or under your calorie target scores full points; for muscle building, hitting the target scores full points. You can track your average Wellness Score over 7 or 30 days in the History tab.
History & Analytics
The Free plan shows 7-day charts for calories, macros, water intake, and Wellness Score. Upgrading to Pro unlocks 30-day charts and analytics. You can also navigate to any specific past date on the Log tab to review individual meal entries regardless of plan.
The History tab includes four interactive charts: Wellness Score trend (0–100 scale with a reference line at 80), daily calorie intake vs. your calorie target, macro breakdown by day (protein, carbs, and fat stacked), and daily water intake vs. your hydration target. All charts support hover tooltips and show goal reference lines.
Account & Billing
Go to Profile → Billing and tap "Upgrade to Pro," or visit 2bib.com/pricing. Pro is $7.99/month or $39.99/year (save 58%). Payment is processed securely via Stripe.
Go to Profile → Billing → Manage subscription. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can view invoices, update your payment method, or cancel. Your Pro access remains active through the end of the current billing period even after cancellation.
Go to Profile → Account & Security → Change Password. Enter your current password and your new password (twice to confirm), then tap Save.
Go to Profile → Account & Security → Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm twice before your account is permanently deleted. This action is irreversible and removes all your data from 2BIB's servers.
Yes. Go to Profile and toggle the "Metric system" switch to switch between kg/cm/ml and lbs/ft–in/oz. All displays, targets, and calculations update immediately.
Teams & Groups
2BIB Groups is a white-label nutrition coaching platform for coaches, dietitians, and wellness brands. You can create a branded group with your own name, logo, and primary color. Members join via a shareable invite link, automatically unlock Pro features, and you can view each member's nutrition history and weight progress from an admin dashboard.
Admins share an invite link (e.g., app.2bib.com/join/CODE). Members who click the link — even without an existing account — are guided through sign-up and automatically added to the group. Each user can be in one group at a time.
All group members automatically receive Pro features: unlimited AI scans, adaptive goals, 30-day history, auto-daily logs, and wellness check-ins. They also see the white-labeled branding (name, logo, colors) configured by the group admin.
Group plans start at $49/month for up to 10 members (Starter), $179/month for up to 50 members (Team), and $299/month for up to 100 members (Business). Enterprise pricing is available for 100+ members — contact support@2bib.com. All group plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Visit 2bib.com/pricing for full details.
Mobile App
Yes. 2BIB is available on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play). The mobile app offers the same core features as the web app — food logging, AI scanning, barcode scanning, goals, hydration tracking, and history — optimized for mobile with native camera access.
Yes. All your data — food logs, goals, body metrics, and history — syncs in real time across web and mobile via the 2BIB cloud. Sign in with the same account on any device to pick up right where you left off.
The app requires an internet connection for AI food scanning, barcode lookup, and syncing your logs. Basic browsing of previously loaded data may be available while offline, but full offline support is on the roadmap for a future mobile update.
